At The Rosewood School, opportunity and experience are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that every pupil deserves access to a rich and varied education that extends beyond the classroom. Through a wide range of academic, creative, and extracurricular activities, we provide meaningful opportunities for pupils to explore their interests, develop new skills, and grow in confidence. Whether it’s through inspiring lessons, enrichment programmes, leadership roles, or real-world learning experiences, our aim is to nurture well-rounded individuals who are ready to thrive in life beyond school.

Sport opportunities and experiences

Sport provides pupils with fun and engaging way to stay active, build confidence, and develop social skills. Offsite PE creates a sense of belonging and school spirit, encouraging pupils to set goals, work hard, and support one another.

We believe real growth happens outside the classroom too. Our learners take part in unforgettable enrichment trips that boost their confidence, help them form friendships, and expand their understanding of health and fitness in the real world.

University Sport Experience – Canterbury Christ Church

Pupils spent a day living the life of a university athlete – including a tour of the Sport Lab, Cryotherapy chamber, and interactive sessions. Nervous pupils left feeling confident, excited about the future, and asking real questions about careers in sport and teaching.

Kent School Games – Leadership Conference (Folkestone)

A powerful day of inclusion and leadership. Pupils learned how to support those with disabilities in sport, worked as a team, and even played wheelchair basketball – a real eye-opener that built empathy and leadership skills.

Adventure & Team Building Trips

Our pupils have taken part in a wide range of physical challenges:

• Paddle boarding & Kayaking at Mote Park

• Climbing, Segways, Paddle Tennis and more

• Rock Climbing & Bouldering – building resilience and confidence

• Quad Biking & Rifle Shooting – encouraging focus and discipline

“I used to hate P.E... now I actually look forward to it.” – pupil Feedback

What is the impact of these experiences on our young people?

✅ Builds confidence & independence

✅ encourages healthy lifestyle choices

✅ Opens career and college pathways

✅ Helps pupils discover what they’re truly capable of

Our annual Sports Day

Each year, The Rosewood School hosts its much-anticipated Annual Sports Day at Soar Trampoline Park, offering pupils a unique and energetic environment to celebrate fitness, teamwork, and school spirit. This exciting event combines physical activity with fun, as pupils participate in a variety of trampoline-based challenges and games designed to promote agility, coordination, and healthy competition. Held in a safe, supervised setting, Sports Day at Soar not only encourages physical well-being but also strengthens the sense of community among pupils and staff.
