At GCSE level students will study for the Combined Science GCSE although some students may choose to study the 3 sciences separately if they are particularly able or passionate about the subject.
At the end of year 11 students will sit six exams. Two for Biology, Two for Chemistry and Two for Physics. If they are sitting the Combined science GCSE the papers are 1hr and 15mins each. If they are sitting the separate sciences then the exams are 1hr and 45 mins each.
Combined science results in two GCSEs whereas separate science results in three GCSEs.
